ABOUT US

OUR JOURNEY
The Burns' family has hosted international hunters for the past 26 years in Alberta Wetlands on phenomenal, once in a lifetime hunting experiences. We are known for our hospitality, congeniality and down to earth approach to Outfitting.
With the passing of the guard, comes new fresh ideas and approaches. Led by 2 generations of Burns women, the new outfit will focus on education and coaching. It is a wholistic approach to nature with all of the other aspects of outdoorsmanship that our family loves: conservation, stewardship, connection with like-minded people, and of course, enjoyment of the great outdoors.
Whether you are an avid duck hunter, just starting out, or looking for a mentor in this area, we have the staff and the right approach to host you at our camp.
Come meet us, and you will see what we mean!
Meet the Family

Rania Burns
Rania has been a coach and educator of women and youth for over 20 years. An avid outdoorswoman, Rania brings business acumen, leadership and a can-do attitude to all aspects of the Burns Ranch. She also makes wine on the side, and
loves sport of all kind.

Sahara Burns
Sahara has been in the outfitting business nearly her whole life, where she helped build and facilitate the business as cook, cleaner, camp manager and guide. Sahara has a love of the natural world and brings her no-nonsense approach to all things outdoors. An avid gameswoman, she is our 'one-shot' wonder outshooting the 'boys' and doing it with style.

Blaine Burns
Blaine has been a member of APOS and the leader of the Burns family Outfitting Operations for 26 years. His knowledge of the Alberta wetlands is second to none, he is well known for his incredible ability to find and host phenomenal shoots. Blaine is bona fide pro at all things waterfowl in Beaver county.

Jane Burns
Jane has been co-owner of the Burns Outfitting business for 26 years. Jane leads the team in the camp, teaching all of us about the efficiency and necessity of a good base to work from. The matriarch of our family and the unspoken "Boss" if you want it done right, talk to Jane.

Duke
A German Shorthaired Pointer and sensitive soul. Easily our most athletic dog, Duke will run for DAYS. He's a little moody, but a beast in the rough. Now retired.

Maverick
Maverick is our adopted "brother from another mother", an upland bird dog and only dog allowed on the couch. When you meet him, you'll understand why.

Kipp
As far as bird dogs, Kipp is the young gun of the group. Three years old and full of energy and speed, wrapped in an adorable black lab coat!

Lenny
The godfather of the dogs, Lenny is the "Best" bird dog we've ever owned. Formerly a crazy field trial dog turned to the sweetest old man. We have the stories to prove it.
