Ladies Snow Goose Camp

Our "Learn to Goose Hunt Camp" features a safe, guided course on how to set up and participate in goose hunts.

Our licensed firearms instructors will help you learn how to handle your shotgun in our target practice session, and our outfitting experts will teach you how to build a  blind and decoy spread. We will also discuss the finer points of negotiating with landowners when you ask permission and address some of your concerns and challenges exclusive to hunting as females. 

On the last day, we finally get you out under some birds for your first ever Goose Hunt!

Back at camp, we will show you how to dress and prepare a wild game meal. Knowing how to prepare and cook wild game is a tremendously useful skill that you can bring to your own dinner table, not to mention the cost savings by filling the freezer!

Itinerary
1st Day

• Meet and Greet - unpack and learn about camp rules and expectations, complete insurance and liability forms.
• Clay pigeon shooting - Our licensed firearms instructors will walk you through gun safety, target practice and shooting etiquette.
• Dinner and campfire

2nd Day

• Breakfast
• Skills Session - We teach you the essentials on how to set up a duck hunt. From setting up blinds and talking to the Land Owners, this session focuses on what you need to know about waterfowl hunting in Alberta, including interpreting County maps, hunting ethics in the field, and waterfowl recognition. We also will teach you how to use a duck call!
• Lunch
• Skills Session - Cooking wild game, from dressing to preparation to spices and flavor pairing.
• Dinner
• Skills Session - Fire building, safety in the woods, how to dress and basic first aid.

3rd Day

• Your first shoot - hosted by our Outfitting partners, our seasoned guides and instructors we will lead you through the steps of a successful and safe hunt. We will pair 2 beginner shooters with a certified instructor to walk you through using your gun safely, how to line your shots up, and managing the many facets of a live shoot. Your safety and comfort is our priority.

• Skills Session - A chance to debrief, share your learning and ask questions in a sharing circle.
• Pack up and Departure

What you need to bring: Active wear, outdoor clothing (warm pants and jackets), boots/shoes that can get muddy, clothing for inclement weather.
**Any color, you do not need camo gear!**

We will send you a list of what to bring and how to prepare in our Hunter Information Package prior to the camp.

We will do our best to refund you as soon as possible, should plans change. A $50 nonrefundable administration fee will be charged
