Join us for a unique outdoor camp that is all about growth and empowerment.
At Burns Outfitting, we tailor make your outdoor adventure, with options that suit your interests. We focus on teaching essential skills and getting you ready to make decisions about your next wilderness activity, so that when it is time to make your own plans, you feel confident in your preparation.
As affordable as a Ladies weekend away…your takeaways will be lifelong skills to impress and teach your own people. We strive to make your learning experience as valuable as possible - no question is too silly, no concern to small, we are here to help you learn at your pace!
Not only will you leave with new skill sets and confidence, but you will also meet and forge friendships with women for future pursuits! Our ‘Next Adventure’ series for subscribed members gives you advance access and discounts to our exclusive events with partnered Outfitters and groups throughout Alberta and BC.

1st Day
• Meet and Greet - unpack and rules of camp
• Skills and Games - mingle with your other campers and participate in small group activities
• Dinner and Camp fire
2nd Day
• Breakfast
• Skills Session - Options include:
o learn to shoot
o learn to fly fish
o gun safety course
o orienteering
o hiking
o learn to bow shoot
• Lunch
• Skills Session - Options include:
o outdoor cooking
o wildlife identification
o shelter building
o basic first aid in the bush
o how to dress for outdoor activities
o foraging/gathering in the woods
o Arts & Crafts - beading, lanyards making, trivets, satchels
• Dinner
• Skills Session - Options include:
o firewood hunting
o fire-building
o safety in the woods
o outdoor night activities
o antler hunting
o games and activities (e.g. scavenger hunt, capture the flag, charades, sardines etc).
• Camp-fire
3rd Day
• Breakfast
• Skills Session - A chance to sum up all of your learning! We will host a scavenger/amazing race type competition to show off your skills, bragging rights, and take home prizes.
• Pack up and Departure
What you need to participate:
Birch Bay has bunk style accommodations. Rooms range in size from 4 - 10 bunks.
Please bring a pillow, sleeping bag or sheets and blankets.
Ear plugs are recommended.
Showers are available. Please bring your own towels.
Warm clothes, outdoor boots/shoes, active wear, and a good attitude!
